First real ride of the season...

Felt great to be back in the saddle.

A few hours to kill on a sunny Sunday, March 24th, saw us ride out to Chilliwack lake. From our side of the valley, we drove up Elk view to reach the Elk bench.
Here is a favorite view along the bench...the Slesse group, in the distance.

Shortly after Army road joins the bench, we get another viewpoint (that is getting overgrown with each passing season) that looks into and across the Chilliwack River Valley. Unfortunately, all we get here is more "across" than anything.

Once we've completed the bench...it's asphalt for another 14 kms before we reach that crater-filled FSR that runs along the east side of the lake.
Then...it's another 7km to reach this particular viewpoint:

Zoom in on Williams peak, in the distance...

Obligatory "bike shot"...it was here that we discovered that my relocated passenger foot-pegs had already broken...that's what happens when you buy cheap crap from Amazon...
Looks like I'll be fabricating another "prototype" soon.

Great day for a ride...a bit on the cool'ish side but great, nonetheless.
